Fire Destroys Camper At Lorne Street Home

A camper outside 196 Lorne Street has been destroyed by fire.

Moncton Fire Platoon Chief Charlie Melanson says they received reports that something had exploded at around 6am this morning.

When they arrived, the camper was fully engulfed, and the fire had spread into the roof of a nearby shed.

Melanson says, “Firefighters did a good job knocking everything down quickly.”

He says the camper is a total loss, and there is fire damage to the shed and siding of the nearby home.

Melanson adds, “The residents in the home had evacuated before they arrived, and no one was hurt.”

An investigation is underway to determine a cause.
