Blood donor clinics to honour Riverview teen

New Brunswickers are being encouraged to roll up their sleeves and donate.

A blood donation drive is underway to honour Rebecca Schofield.

The Riverview teen died in 2018 after a battle with brain cancer.

During her fight, she inspired the #BeccaToldMeTo and encouraged random acts of kindness around the world.

Canadian Blood Services says right now, on average across the country, there are about 230 new donors a day, “To meet the growing need for blood and plasma we need to double the number of new donors. We’re calling on people across the country to be one of the 450 new donors needed every day this winter.”

Blood donations are being accepted in her memory until January 3.
