Visits to the one of the surgery units at Edmundston Regional Hospital have been temporarily suspended, due to positive COVID-19 cases.
Three healthcare workers in surgery unit two were diagnosed with the virus.
“We are currently in the process of investigating the situation. This decision has been made for preventive purposes to protect the safety of patients and staff,” explained Stéphane Legacy, Vice-President of Outpatient and Professional Services of the Network.
Vitalité Health Network says the emergency department at the hospital remains open.
