More affordable housing for seniors in Cap-Acadie

New housing options for seniors are coming to Cap-Acadie.

The Housing Hub of New Brunswick has reached an agreement with l’Auberge Ste. Therese for affordable housing in the community.

The estimated project cost is $4,486,770. The agreement follows a feasibility study carried out by Housing Hub for l’Auberge Ste-Thérèse, an organization that has provided housing for seniors since the 1970s.

Phase 1 and 2 of geotechnical and environmental studies have been completed and construction will be done in 2025.

Hector Doiron, president of the board for l’Auberge, said the organization is trying to meet the high need for senior housing in the community. He adds the organization now has a waiting list of 40 people for the 10 apartments in the current facility.
